Power Issues On Flight Sim Yoke

So recently I got a Saitek Pro Flight yoke, and the power adapter that went with it was incorrect. The original one is a 5V 1.5amp, I went to the computer store and bought a 5V 1.3amp adapter and it doesn't power on. Do these devices need to meet that minimum 1.5amp to work correctly? Or is it just broken? I have the original adapter coming, so when that gets here I guess it will tell me for sure, but I figured at least 1.3 would be enough.
