How are you going to cool it?

Plus, that MSI motherboard is very low-tier compared to the AM4 Gigabyte motherboard in his list, which is mid-range. I was also very unhappy with Gigabyte's Windforce 1060 when I helped a friend build a pc.

I have to say, I like the performance of the i5 and the savings of the motherboard and GPU... They both have decent reviews

locked i5s come with a stock cooler, and it doesn't matter muvh since the i5 can't be overclocked anyways.

I'm liking this. I kept the 850 EVO because I'm willing to pay a little extra for the good reputation and the WD for the extra cache

crucial is a major company, and the MX500 has about the same performance and warranty while having a much better endurance rating. the 850 evo isn't king of the hills anymore. the masterbox doesn't have 80mm fan mounts, just use the stock fans.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W

I guess it’s fine if you use those parts, although that motherboard is pretty bare. It’s your pc anyways, I’m just trying to help since I’ve built many. If you do one thing, please get an aftermarket cooler, it doesn’t have to be expensive.  The Intel stock cooler just isn’t good enough.

I hear you. For the sake of trying to save a few bucks, I'll start off without the cooler and add one later if I see any performance or noise issues

if it ends up being too hot, get a raijintek aidos black instead, smaller and less than half the 212's price yet performance is the same.

not entirely sure how to put this as i am new to building PC's.

but basically my dad got a free PC from his work and we decided to upgrade it.

one thought i had since we had no OS was to take an old laptop HDD (which had windows 7) but when i plugged it in, it said that it did not recognize the hardware. how can this be fixed if its even possible?
