Most Realistic Driving Simulator?

Hello everyone!

 

I am really into driving simulator games and I was just wondering what you guys think the best ones are? I am currently playing "Spintires MudRunner" & "BeamNG.Drive" which are amazing! I'm just curious as to what others are out there that are as good or better?

In terms of 'realism' BeamNG.Drive is the best one there is, it blows all other driving simulators out of the water.

Are there any games out there that allow you to build your own vehicle and test it out on different terrain?

There is and it's called Brick Rigs which is a Lego version of BeamNG but obviously you loose some of the realism in the sense that you are simulating a toy not a real car.

I forgot about those! Yes they are good though unfortunately I only have paddle shifting for my steering wheel. It would be awesome to have a clutch and shifter.

First off, are you using a wheel?

 

If you like motorsports and want the most realistic depiction, iRacing is probably the defacto king on PC. Its costly and it doesnt have a lot of cars but it makes up for it by having each car and track feel a bit more accurate. There isnt a lot of street cars in it though so if you wanted to drive those, then Id pass.

 

If youre looking for traditional sim racers, Assetto Corsa and pCars 2 are tough to beat. I personally like pCars 2 as it has better weather options and has night driving but AC2 feels great driving wise for an older release.

 

 

If you want to just mod cars with body kits and play around that way, the Forza series is alright for that but its a lot more forgiving and less 'realistic' than the others. You do get a lot of cars and tracks though so there is probably something everybody can enjoy.

 

Personally I think pCars is the best balance of car and track options and driving feel. It also has a ton of options to custom cater your driving feel. Especially with a FFB wheel.
