H100i cooler question

i am a bit confused with the corsair link. do I need to connect the fans to h100i in order to use corsair link? If i want to control fan speed on the software, do the fans have to be connected to the h100i not motherboard or either motherboard and h100i? 

Yes, they do have to be connected to the H100i.

You can't control other fans through Corsair link

This. However I connected all the other fans in my case to the pump as well (No small feat), and in doing so you do have control over all the fans in the case. You can also manage GPU fan speeds through Corsair Link.

I can be a cynical a**hole at times. I apologize if I cause any offence at those time. I also occasionally have issues communicating my point. Extreme introversion + Photographic memory + Some other things.

Desktop: i5-4670k - 8gb 1600MHz - MSI 7850

Laptop: i7-4810QM - GTX 870m - 8gb RAM

Uhh...... I think 5? It's a C70 Vengeance, so it has the two in the front, two on the radiator and one on the back.

 

I'll have to check, I may not have connected the two on the front, but I'm pretty sure I managed to get them all connected (albeit rather haphazardly). I haven't been home in a couple months so I might be lying, I don't remember.
