My computer stopped working. It no longer powers on. I believe the power supply died but I have no way to test this. I don't have an extra power supply. I don't want to just buying and swapping parts out. I can't really afford to do that. Any suggestions you guys have on how to troubleshoot this? I would greatly appreciate it. I'm just North of Pittsburgh, PA. I don't want to spend the money on a local computer repair shop but if that's what I need to do, does anybody have any recommendations for repair shops close to me?

What is everybody's opinion on whether or not I fried something other than the power supply? No power at all. No lights come on. The power supply fan won't come on. No response that I can tell from anything. It was running MineCraft overnight and when I woke up it was in its current no power state.

What power supply do you have? A product name would help to tell if it is a reputable product or known for dying.

If you look around the internet, that power supply has some pretty bad reviews.

Go with a corsair or seasonic one the next time and go a little higher than 80+ bronze.

I just buy 80+ platinum ones on sale to be honest. Like 650-750 watts. More than enough for a single GPU and overclocking and then some.

Not usually too expensive for something in that range.

Unless you're doing an SLI setup, you don't need another 1000 watt one.

Anyways, contact the manufacturer to see if it's under warranty and if you can get a refund.

I'd go for the refund over a replacement, because like I said, not the most trusted power supply brand.
