Computer does not recognize GTX 770

Go to solution Solved by frontliner,

Have you updated your motherboard bios? I know of two people who needed to update their bios to be able to see the GTX770.

I just got my EVGA SC GTX 770 in the mail today. However, after plugging it in to my motherboard and turning on my computer I realized that it is not being recognized. I then tried uninstalling all of my previous drivers for my MSI GTX 670 using Driver Fusion but this did not help. When I go into my BIOS it doesn't even see that something is plugged into that slot on the motherboard. However the fans are spinning. When I plug the cord for my monitor into the GPU nothing shows up. The only way I can get a signal is by plugging it into my motherboard's DVI port. I then tried disabling the IGPU in the BIOS but this didn't help. Is the card faulty?? I'm really hoping it's not since it is replacing my 670 while that is being RMA'd. Is there anything I forgot or can try to get it working? Thanks for your help.

DOA most likely. Even though the fans are spinning it's just power through the PCB, I'd say its dead. Sorry man

Yea I made sure it was in my motherboard all the way. Man that's a shame. I was really hoping to play some battlefield since I just picked it up. Guess I'm going to have to study for my exams tomorrow instead.. What percentages of GPU's end up being DOA?

I can't seem to find a BIOS update online. I tried using the internet flash method in the BIOS but it can't connect to my internet for some reason. This is the download page for my motherboard: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z77%20Extreme6/?cat=Download&os=Win764

Is one of those the one I'm looking for?
