Norton is fine, it's a resource hog though.

My favorites:

1. Comodo - not bad, as long as you know how to config it,

2. Avast 2014 - many false positives, which it's annoying sometimes,

3. AVG 2014 - comes with a lot of bloatware, so be careful when installing it.

However, the best anti-virus, it's common sense! Don't open suspicious links, and do not open attachments and you will be safe.

Microsoft Security Essentials. It may not be the best by far, but it's lightweight and quick. Combine it with common sense, and you'll be golden.

I personally don't like AVG ever since they introduced the nagging "Upgrade" banner. Back when there was no advertisement for the paid version, I loved it. Avast would be my second choice.

I used to pay for Nod32 A/V, back when everyone was raving about them, but I chose to forego the subscription and get MSE when it was released.

If you have Windows 7 and it's a genuine version you can use Microsoft Security Essentials. If you have Windows 8 or above, MSE is preinstalled instead of Windows Defender(even though it still says Windows Defender on Windows 8).

I use MSE and MalwareBytes(Non-pro, free version). Recently I installed Avast and set it to silent mode with automatic updates as well as no notifications, so it doesn't bug me during gaming.

I heard AVG is good, but I don't touch it, neither Norton.
