Plan A: try reformating your HDD by accessing safe mode in your Bios. Plan B: Buy yourself an SSD or a new HDD ( I recommend going with an SSD) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1264782-REG/sandisk_sdssda_240g_g26_240gb_plus_sata_iii.html?ap=y&c3api=1876%2C{creative}%2C{keyword}&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIl7fors-y2QIVyrrACh2hnQiiEAQYBCABEgKWbvD_BwE

Best i can tell you now to change thermal paste and if that doesent help maybe try to change cpu cooler.

I know that you said that you dont know which parts you have but try remember or find out which cpu you have.

P.S. you can dowbload something like Speccy to see all you components and monitor their temperature

stock cooler and havent changed anything since i built it 2 years ago, i have cleaned the dust out regularly tho

Changing thermal paste is an option aswell, but I dont think its a solution. I think you should download aida64 and stress test cpu, cache, fpu and memory and see how high temps go, if they go to 90+ degrees almost instantly there is your problem found. Since you dont have done any oc or touched anything, your mobo is applying more voltage than needed to cpu, causing more heat

In my case thermal paste was solution. My cpu was running on same temperature when idle and two of my cores where on 100 degrees when playing games(like gtaV). But eventually I was forced to change my cooler.

Well he did say "if you see temps going high emmedietly" so... but if yoi dont see it going up then let it run for 5 min. Iam not expert at stress test tho, but i have seen plenty of people doing it for that period of time

Whell it surely shouldnt make such a big diffrence but if it helps...

Are your temps now back to normal?
