I'm sorry for the poor image quality but i can try to explain what happened.

Boot time was taking alot longer than usual and suddenly these dots started appearing from the top of the screen and crawling their way down (about 2-3cm)

My initial reaction was "OH SHIT!?" and reached for the reset button on my PC and also managed to record a second of it on snapchat.

Ever since then I've had strange complete lock-ups and weird stutters/freezes in games such as League of legends and PUBG.

I'm sadly guessing this damage is pretty permanent but I'm really curious on what parts i will be needing to replace for my stuttering and the random lock-ups to stop.

 image.png.98ccc60d8f9d5761a6d77f78ef7861e6.png

Any ideas on what might be a cause or what will fix it is greatly appretiated.

SPECS:

asus 970 pro gaming/aura

fx 8350

gtx 970

600w psu corsair

2x4gig low profile vengence ram

2x4gig high profile vengence ram

ram sticks were bought separately and techstore i bought it from said low and high profile rams from this series are esscentially the same and should work

Again, any ideas or any input at all is really helpfull!

thanks <3

Clear CMOS. If that doesn't work, reinstall Windows. If that doesn't work, I bet it's hardware damage.

You could also take out your GPU and use on board graphics just to see if its the GPU, but yeah clear that CMOS. Think you may have to take out the CR2032 battery on the mobo to do this in your case, could be wrong.

What kind of stuff do you have? You could always put stuff that doesn't fit on some cloud storage using a free trial.

Google Drive? I personally hate cloud storage solutions, so I have no idea what's good and what isn't LOL.

Maybe just a quick Google search can find you a top 5 or something, IDK.

GPU related, but I have no idea why it would be on, from what I could tell, the BIOS splash screen.

- failing gpu

- bad hdmi / dvi cables

- bad monitor.

have you tried connecting to another monitor?

Before installing windows, make sure its not a hardware failure.

If its a hardware failure then you can save much time installing windows and all programs and just replace the failing hardware.

Your problem seems to be related to display, so in device manager, uninstall all gpu drivers, reboot and install the latest driver from nvidia website.

If you have a spare gpu, swap it first and examine.

Do you have some sort of spare GPU? If not, you can get them for about $20.

The cpu are fine, no need to worry about it.

Your main problem is with your gpu.

Is not a catastrophic damage, i would save time stop moving files to gdrive and focus on the gpu first.

If the gpu is damaged, it can be fixed safely with a gpu swap.
