Hi guys, that`s my first build ever and I need some help...

I live in Brazil and I have an Asus RoG G75VW, that is letting me down, because of that I'm planing to buy a new computer. My budget is for a "60~90FPS Good Enough" PC (something like 4500R$ ~ 1400 USD) (I will not discuss about prices in this topic because prices here in Brazil are much higher then in the US or Canada, I am just trying to get the specs right)

Important Aspects of the build:

- I don't need it for nothing fancy just for games and college works;

- I don't care about RGB, but I`m trying to go for well known brands;

- I will use any case thats is good/cheap enough to store my precious gaming friend;

- Peripherals not included in the build/budget;

- I already have a monitor.

My Build:

CPU - Intel Core i5-8400 Coffee Lake 8Gen

CPU Cooling - CoolerMaster Hyper 212x (RR-212x-20PM-R1)

MotherBoard - GIGABYTE LGA 1151 ATX Z370XP

GPU - VGA NVIDIA ASUS GEFORCE GTX 1060 6Gb GDDR5, 192-Bits

Power Supply - Corsair 650W 80 Plus Bronze CX650

RAM - Corsair Vengeance LXP 4GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16

Storage - HD Seagate SATA3.5 Barracuda 1TB

Questions:

1) Do I need WC for this build or AC with the designated cooler will be enough? (I have AC in my room and it`s always on, at 23oC)

2) I know nothing about motherboards, the one i choose was mostly because of the price and because I think it is compatible, but I`m not sure... Do I have any better choice for the same price range?

3) I`m using 8Gb of RAM, is it enough or I need more?

4) I`m thinking in buying a SSD M.2 in the future but I could not find if the motherboard has a M.2 slot, can anyone help me with that?

5) The new Ryzen 2400G is already at pre-order in stores here in Brazil (I thought it would take longer haha) and I was thinking in buying one and buying a GPU later (the prices are too high), how much performance I would be losing doing that? Is it worth the effort/money?

6) Last but not least, Everything is compatible, right?

All help is welcome and feel free to point out grammar mistakes, I`m trying to improve my english.

Thanks :)

1. You only need stock cooler since it is a locked processor

2. Since your CPU is locked, any mobo is fine given that it meets your needs for I/O and stuff

3. Enough

4. Most Z370 have m.2 slot, but unless you need NVME, SATA is fine

5. Not worth

6. Yes

There may not be a stock cooler depending on where he buys it. So that hyper 212 can be a good alternative to keep the PC a tad more quiet.

Not sure about brazilian prices so it may be over budget. Get the cheapest 1070 you can find

I liked the build, but the only down side is that new tech here is very expensive, the SSD alone is R$4352.82 (https://www.kabum.com.br/cgi-local/site/listagem/listagem.cgi?string=850+EVO&btnG=:(

Consider placing an offer for a 1070 on local websites. Put a reasonable price for a used GPU - and perhaps a miner that is considering selling off some GPUs - might take you up on that.

if you're going to buy an i5, maybe you should consider an AMD R5, they have more core and are cheaper, like the 1600X.

Since it's a new architecture benchmarks scores have been changing for the past year, and have now come to a rest so if you look up performance just make sure the benchmarks are fairly recent.

Some people still argue this isn't good for gaming, but you can overclock any AMD cpu and they also come with more PCIe lanes.

Then switch it out with a cheaper ssd or just a hard drive, or look for a different retailer, as that price js extremely inflated

r5 is worse than i5 8400

Only in singlethreaded performance multithreaded is much better

Yeah basically the IPC is not that great, but they do offer more core for cheaper so multi-threaded ends up being better.

also like I said AMD has been working a lot on optimization with developers because ryzen CPUs are a completely new architecture (that's a very short explanation btw, don't quote me on that)
