Hello everybody!
I've bought a 4K monitor and so I decided to download 4k high bitrate movies but they are impossible to play without stutters!!!
I have a laptop with i7 6700hq, gtx 960m and 16gb of Ram, I'm using mpc-hc with madvr. My laptop can edit 4k videos, I can play the latest games at 1080p medium but I can't play 4k high bitrate movies. The Lg oled c7 of my friend can play 4k movies on a usb drive but my pc can't.
Please help me!!! The only movie I could watch without any problem was blade runner 2049 (hdr, atmos,67 Gb)

Lossess will be a pain to play. Compress it with x264 and your good to like 100mbit. You won't notice the quality change and it will play easily.

Actually guys of course they are not uncompressed, I wrote wrongly lossless. They are HEVC, BR 2049 is 50 Mbps and I watched it fine, La La land at 70 Mbps it's impossible to watch, but plays perfectly on a TV (lg oled c7) that of course has less power than my pc.

its hardware decoding. converting it to h2644 will cause it to play fine.

Have you checked if your SSD drive speed is consistent? I've just checked the specs on the 960m and your processor, I think that even if you figure out a way to decode video with your igpu, Intel HD530 does not support 10bit HEVC so you would need an hybrid solution. Searching around I've found that there was another user with a similar problem on LTT, this is what he did:

With Mpc-hc I can use my dedicated card, at first it seems it doesn't let you do it, but if you change the name of the exe you can launch it with the nvidia card. When I check task manager during playback the cpu is almost all the time at 100% while the two gpu (yes, both work together) are around 50-60 % for nvidia and 20-30 % for intel.

I have a 850 pro 1 TB and it's working fine, but I'm using an external hard drive. I should try watching the movie from the ssd, but still on the TV works from the hard disk perfectly and when I check task manager for the hdd  it's not even close to max speed
