I have been doing lots of research on computers, builds, and parts for the past year and I think im ready to build a PC. I am 13 and sadly there isnt much I can do around my area to make money and im not the richest family on the block. I am getting $650 to do whatever I want with, and I want to get some tech! I currently run 5-7 year old extremely low end hardware(core 2 duo, HD 5570) so the only thing I could reuse is the ATX case and the hard drives(500GB & 1TB). I make skits with my friend and bringing my old bulky case can be a BIG pain to move to my friends house so I can edit and upload there so I was considering getting a laptop or an mITX/mATX system. I run 2 monitors, one is 1680x1050 the other is 1600x900 and editing 1080p footage isnt very good so I would like to get a new monitor. I use after effects, photoshop, and sony vegas. I play minecraft, garrys mod, and battlefeild. I dont do mail in rebates.

So what should I get?

My PC:

CPU: Xeon E3 1230 V3(Haswell) @ 3.7GHz Motherboard: AsRock B85M-ITX RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance LP Blue @ 1600MHz Storage: Intel 520 Series 120(Boot), Seagate Barracuda 500GB @ 7200RPM, Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB @ 5400RPM GPU: ZOTAC GTX 970 @ 1.4GHz Case: Node 304 Power Supply: CX430

removing pre-installed junkware that company's install

Oh right. I didn't check the link. I assumed it was a monitor.

I am leaning away from laptops as the performance around my price range isnt great. I would rather build a PC. Also, the monitor is not necessary, as I can save up for one after.

Usually just putting 1080p clips together, and adding audio tracks from the mic in vegas. I do lots of trailers and stuff in acter effects though that use particle systems and lots of effects.

You shouldn't be leaving the 8320 at stock or with the stock cooler. You'd also want a better mobo to oc an 8 core.

Why not leave it at stock? Also there are no 900 series chipset boards for mATX. The 8320 would outperform the 4430 at stock to my knowledge.

You can go 880GM for 8 cores. Still not recommended though.

It's not meant to be left at stock. It's single core performance is a bit too low imo compared the 4430 without overclocking.

For what you're doing, it won't make much of a difference in editing other than in generating effects.
