Question for new pc build.

First of all sorry if I put this in the wrong topic. I'm planning to do a new pc build, my first. I'm on a budget and I plan to do a I5-8600k build or a Ryzen 5 1600x. I have a MSI GTX 960 4GB gpu in my old rig and I want to use that with my new build since I don't have enough money for a new gpu too. I don't really know what bottleneck is so my question is, can I use the 960 with the I5 or the 1600x without any problems?

It really depends on resolution with bottlenecks but you won't see a noticeable difference with either of those CPU's with that GPU.

For now, I'm only going to play 1080p gaming since my monitor is 1080p 60Hz. In the future I'm going to upgrade my gpu and my monitor so for now it shouldn't be a problem right?

it'll work just fine on both but you'll be GPU bottlenecked with a 960.

Sorry for asking this, but what is bottlenecking really? What do you recommend, should I build the pc with the 960 or wait until I can upgrade my gpu too?

you won't see the full performance potential of either cpu, just build it now and upgrade later, no need to worry about it.
