Doing a custom hard tube loop in Corsair 460x. There isn’t a lot of room in the case so I’m trying to save as much room as possible. The case comes with excessively lengthen io cable. Would it be difficult to trim the the cable. Has anyone done this mod? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, You just need Dupont terminals to re-crimp the wire. USB 3.0 cables is allot harder since it requires soldering and a new USB 3.0 connector. You might be able to to use MilGrid terminals for USB 3.0. Not 100% sure since I've never cut open the USB 3.0 cable.

I've done all of what your asking minus USB 3.0 in my one build log.

Current Build: Project Frost
Gaming Rig Build: Project Ice Dragon

I didn't find any of the IO cables particularly long. I'm upgrading it to hardline (once everything arrives) as my soft tubing repeatedly gets kinda mucky. Theres also space for a couple 3.5" hdds, a few more 2.5" drives and a 2nd GPU.

Shortening the front panel and audio will be easy, but I would leave the USB 3.0. Its a 20-pin 2mm pitch header, so the pinout is quite complex and the cables will be shielded. You will loose connection speed and reliability if this is not maintained.
