Screen flashes grey for split second

For some time now my screen has been flashing grey for a split second in varying intervals. It doesn't happen super often, but it's still annoying when it happens.

 

Has anyone had similar experiences?

I don't think it's a loose connection, could it be something with the graphics driver?
