As you can see my current computer is Complete SHT. i'm upgrading all parts kinda like building my own pc because it's cheaper.

i'm more of upgrading my whole pc. because cheaper then buying a new one. ill be upgrading motherboard graphic card/cpu/psu

so i'm planning on using My main point is. on which motherboard to get. that would suit these 2 parts well.

P.S Please note motherboard ram slot has to be DDR3 because i'm gonna keep using my old ram And the socket for cpu has to be LGA 1150 on motherboard.
Intel C
ore i5-4690K 4 cores

nvidia geforce gtx 970

Problem is i'm confused on which motherboard to get  i have Asus Z87-Pro in Mind. but once again i don't know. i'm not an expert on motherboards that's why i'm here. i have so many questions

1. does the motherboard affect quality for video

2.does it affect overclocking my gpu

3. does it affect anything at all.

i got more questions but idk what to ask ^^"

Instead of getting an i5 it would make more sense to find a used i7 4770 or 4790 on Ebay.

Get a Z97 board instead, most Z87 boards need a BIOS update to support chips like the 4690K.

The ASRock Z97 Fatal1ty Gaming Pro is a pretty decent board, as is the Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5.

Ohhh yes they are. Intel's 4th Generation of CPUs originally launched on the Z87 platform with the i5-4670K and i7-4770K. Intel then refreshed the Haswell(4th gen) architecture with Devil's Canyon and the i5-4690K and i7-4790K, which were on the Z97 platform.

Z97X Killer/3.1 on the bottom.

Comes with USB 3.1 which is handy to have. If you don't find yourself wanting/needing USB 3.1, get the Z97X-Killer or Z97 Professional.

Which one of these 4. killer etc and so on. ^^"

Whichever's the cheapest one. The bottom one has USB 3.1, so get that if it's something you need.

everyone needs usb 3.1 ^^". for keyboards mouse headsets ETC.

My motherboard in my main rig has a USB 3.1 Type-C connector, but I haven't had a need for it yet.

USB 3.1 is just a bit faster than normal USB 3.0 as well, but most people wouldn't have a real use for the higher data transfer speeds.

As long as it's a modern PSU it'll be fine. I'd recommend a Corsair CX550M.
