Memory Upgrade

Hey all. I'm trying to make a decision. I've scoured the net trying to find information on the best RAM for my Rampage IV Extreme. I heard somewhere that a computer can't go above 1866MHz. Is this true? I've been eyeing a set of 2133MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum memory. Would I be better off going with 2133 or is that a waste of money? I've always thought that faster is better with RAM speed, but I was hoping for an absolute answer before I get my memory upgrade. I'm running an i7 3820 and hope to upgrade someday to an i7 3770k. Is the i7 3820 capable of taking full advantage of either 1866MHz or 2133Mhz RAM?

Thank you for your input. I've decided on a set of 1866MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum RAM. I'm sure they'll work great for my system. I can't wait to get them home and try them out.
