Hey everyone!

I was hoping on getting some help deciding on some PC upgrades,

I currently have a 5820k overclocked up to 4.5 GHZ (has been since I got it when it launched 3 and a half years ago) and I'm thinking its finally time I upgrade my CPU/Mobo.

The rest of my system is as follows

Case: Corsair Graphite 780T

SSD: Intel 750 (NVME)

Storage: 2 4TB HDDS

RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3000 Mhz RGB Ram

GPU: ASUS Strix 1080

Im currently torn between maybe going ryzen 1800x, i7-8700k, or just saying fuck it and swiping my credit card on the i9-7900k. I'd also like a Motherboard recommendation. I currently am Using a NZXT Kraken X61 but am considering just switching over to the Corsair H115 or 150 PRO as my AIO cause I've been having issues with my Kraken.

My Main purpose with my PC is Gaming and Twitch Streaming.

I'd wait for Zen Plus, or if you can Zen 2. Zen Plus comes out in April on 12nm, and all prices are so inflated it's not funny. 1080 Tis usually go for $670 but now go for $1600.

I'm gonna be keeping my GPU and ram and all. Just gonna swap out the MOBO and CPU. Is there any concrete info out on Zen 2 or Zen plus atm?

EDIT: NVM Found a Anandtech Article on Zen+.

Zen Plus has already been announced to be released in April. It will be a Ryzen refresh, but on 12nm, slightly faster speeds and lower heat for the same price. I'd wait for it if your current computer cuts it until then.

Right now the newest intel stuff have the upper hand. If you wait for the Zen+ coming out soon, then things might change.

I would get a 8700K + Z370 Taichi, would be excellent combo, specially if you overclock.

Just to put my mind at rest, is there any merit to going i9?
