Computer freezing help

Jorrdannx

Hi All,

Recently upgraded my computer.

Current specs

CPU - 8600K 4.7GHz OC at 1.35V

GPU - Strix 1070ti (Not OC’d)

RAM - G.Skill Trident Z 3000MHz with XMP enabled

MB - Strix Z370 Gaming-F

PSU - Corsair CX600

Cooler - Corsair H100i

I previously had a RX480 8GB and had no issues, since putting the 1070ti the computer randomly crashes, I have formatted every hard drive and my SSD with a fresh install of Windows10 and the problem still happens.

I can give more info if required.

Did you install Nvidia drivers yet?

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Reseat the GPU and it's cables.

Wipe out the video card driver with DDU in safe mode and install it again.

It's either not properly seated which happens to everyone at least once or some of the old registry entries from your old card are causing conflicts which DDU will solve.

(use the top left option not the one for installing a new video card. That option is for when you're literally putting the new one in right after. The top left option does what you need anyways).

If neither of those work, contact the manufacturer and ask for a replacement.

Hi,

Tried both of these last night but they don't seem to have worked. Looks like I got a broken card. I will contact them today.

Thanks for your help

Yea, that's the best course of action.

No problem and good luck!
