Does using OTG cable affect speed?

Hello! If I attach an external hard drive with my mobile using an OTG cable, by how much, if any, will the transfer speed reduce? (E.g., if I'm copying a movie from my phone's internal storage to the external hdd). Also, does the LG G3 support NTFS through USB OTG? Like if I want to attach an external hard drive (which will probably be formatted in Ntfs) work with my G3?
