Hi everyone,

I have an ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K6 motherboard combined with a i5 6600k CPU and 2x8gb 2666Mhz HyperX ram sticks.

It all started after a windows 10 update that for a strange reason took quite some time to complete.

After turning off my pc and trying to open it up again, it won't boot, the mobo will indicate a 00 error code (which according to ASRock translates to "Please check if the CPU is install correctly and then clear CMOS") and the CPU fan won't spin.

I tried different solutions like:

- Resetting CMOS via button
- Resetting CMOS via pins

- Removing one ram stick at a time

- Removing the CPU cooler

and what actually did work was when i switched to the Backup BIOS. My pc booted after that but when i switched it off again and tried opening it once more, it once again failed to boot and the BIOS solution does not work now.

If the CPU and/or mobo were malfunctioning I guess my pc would not boot when i switched to backup BIOS the first time. So maybe this is due to a corrupted (now two) BIOS?

Any suggestions?

Set yourself up with a bootable flash drive and throw the newest BIOS file on it.  Hopefully you will be able to boot off the flash drive and update the BIOS from there too.  That's just where I would start but I'm sure there has to be someone here in LTT that has a better solution than the one that I came up with but it's a place to start.  Good Luck.
