Hello all! I have been working and ding research, checking reviews etc. This is what I've come up with for a gaming PC that isn't too unbelievably pricey. Of course my lists non-essential hardware such as monitors. so it comes out at about $1,300. Is there anything I could get differently to save money or get more power out of it without spending more? Also is there anything missing that I should also lookout for? Any suggestions would be amazing!

Are you gaming on this or just general tasks?

6600 is old and out dated, swapped it out for an 8400 which will give you more cores for the same price and also perform much better.

Swapped out the board since the processor was changed

Dropped the cooler since the stock is fine for the 8400

Added an SSD for added performance from boot times, loading times, reduced latency, and overall snappiness

The motherboard comes with a sound card and has Ethernet, dropped both of those since they are not needed.

Swapped the PSU for a better and more modern PSU as well.

Yeah if you're only going to spend so little on a sound card don't bother. Ive got this mobo and supreme fx is fine. Actually a cheap sound card and supreme fx are both underwhelming. I went with using my amp instead. If you have a spare amp hook that up using an optical cable.

It's for gaming! Also do you think I'll need any case fans or should it be good the way it is?

Yah, that's why I was questioning if it was for gaming or not.

Of course with GPU prices as screwed up as they are, a $200 1050 (non-Ti model) doesn't surprise me.

OP, I would highly suggest waiting for prices to come down on GPUs to get something that can drive games better and also dropping to a 1440p or 1080p monitor.

Sorry I'm still new to most of this. I never purchase till I'm 100% certain though, and I never buy all at once. This will probably change a whole lot as time goes one. It'll take a year to get all the parts and I'm only buying the case right now.

np, you should use a 1080p monitor with that card, also I wouldn't recommend a wireless mouse if you're going to play, it'd be more than bad to run out of batteries right in the middle of an important fight, also the input lag
