define profit.

when mining for any amount of time in a pool, you are going to profit (1070 is good enough efficiency so that power isn't gonna be more expensive)

solo is a never. Always pool. (using what I know from bitcoin), you're in a competition to find a correct hash for a thing, and pools act as one large hashing thing. You're stuck at, maybe 100MH, and the other pools are maybe 100TH. Good luck. All your hashing power is wasted because you only get rewarded for getting the proper hash.

In a pool you're rewarded for trying because if you weren't and you were only rewarded for getting the correct hash AND THE POOL TAKES A CUT, why even use a pool?

Hey guys, I have a G1 Gaming 1070, and I was wondering, if I want to mine ETH, do I need to mine 24/7 to atleast get some profit?

Also, should I mine solo or in a pool?

Pools usually require a minimum to pay out (.1 eth for example) and that will take you a LONG TIME to earn with 1 1070.  You'll need to be patient, but you can try it if you want.

I understand your logic of using a mining pool.

I am thinking about joining a mining pool.

I wouldn't mine solo unless it's a new shitcoin. Huge waste of time and energy.

Interesting but your wattage is a bit off, more likely its 180W not 120W.

Ha.  I wasn't even considering power, just how much he would earn till a payout of some kind.  Throwing power in I don't think this is very profitable...

That is why Mining Pools is where all the cool handsome studs go. Like me.

I still havent bought a gpu, studying the graphs of bitcoin. Large daily delta's.

But I want graphs for Ethereum

NM I see my graph has it and litecoin.

https://www.gdax.com/trade/ETH-USD

I will study this graph now and see what the valley averages and deltas are.

It is going up I should buy! See ya'zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
