sub 600$ cad laptop

hi, my dad needs a laptop and it must be one that is going to last a long time. 8gb ram is a must, touchscreen or not it does not matter this much and a screen at least 15.6 inch. prices in canadian (485$ max in us) what do you suggest?

8th gen I5 4c/8t is only option for that price?

no need for last gen cpu as long as the laptop is brand new. I found this one with a A9 cpu from amd https://www.ncix.com/detail/acer-aspire-e5-523-979h-amd-a9-62-140138.htm

its for web browsing I wont pay 1000$ for a new gen cpu

Ncix went bankrupt last month, they don't sell anything anymore.

Then get something like 6200U/7200U, still better performance than AMD last gen mobile APUs
