AM4 RAID 0 Set Up

Hello People,
Right I got myself a nice new Ryzen 5 1600 and a more matte than shiny X370 Gaming Pro Carbon from the good folks at MSI.
So been working away setting the system up and getting my RAID 0 array built then problems problems problems....
For some reason I can't seem to get windows to install on the raid array.
Every time I try to I get the same issues.
So how I build the array was through the BIOS. Secure Erased both drives first so they where nice and clean then set up the RAID array everything's going fine then I get to windows install, go through the whole load driver thing then the problem is I get back to the which do you want and then I have 
drive 0 part 1 128MB total space, 128mb free space, MSR reserved
drive 0 part 2: new volume 465.6GB total space 423.4GB free space, primary.
Now at the bottom of the screen its saying windows cant be installed on drive 0 partition X.
So drives I am using are a pair of Samsung 840 EVO's they are 120GB drives.

Am I going wrong somewhere? or am I missing something?

I ended up doing this. I think I deleted the existing partitions.

I have already deleted all the partitions from the previous install or Windows as well as wiping the drives using secure erase from within the BIOS.

If I recall, I did a secure erase of the array in the bios when I setup the array. When I went to install, the drive that showed up already had a partition on it if not 2. I deleted those and then it let me install.

Weird, I have tried to do exactly the same as you and it just doesn't want to work.

The option to delete the partitions aren't there also the raid array itself isn't showing up,

Ahhh, I misread. That 500 isn't your array. You should have a ~250GB array. You may need to load the drivers for windows 10 installer. Have you done that? 

 

Download them MSI AM4 Raid Driver

 

You will want to expand whatever it gives you and put it on a flash drive, then use the load driver dialog on that custom install screen to load them.

I have tried it, which driver is it?

I have used all of them together and each one separately to no avail.

Do you mean load all the drivers in both folders?

Ugh, then I think you are on the right track.

 

I would:

 

1. Disconnect any other drives you have

2. Show a screenshot of the array setup in the bios

3. Grab screenshots of you loading the drivers (in folder that isn't windows 7)

 

Zip that and post it here and open a ticket with MSI at the same time with that attached.

I will have another go first but disconnect everything but the drives in the array and the windows install USB drive and try loading both folders of drivers and see what happens.
