Hyperx cloud 2 sound muffled

over the past week, I have been getting buzzing in the right speaker of my hyperx cloud 2s at high bass. This stopped today and I thought it was an issue with the usb sound card as they worked fine at high bass plugged into another device. However the audio has since become very muffled and distant. For example, when listening to music, the singer is quiet but the band is loud. I suspect it is the 3.5 mm 4 pole jack however I would rather not have to tear the braided cable unless it is definitely the cause. Taking apart the ear cups themselves reveals no loose wires in either ear cup. I got them as a present so I don't have a receipt and so I doubt I will be able to claim a warranty. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks.

Can u just plug it directly to the 3.5 jack?

Someone might mess with your EQ settings.

you can listen to the exact sound the you are hearing at high bass

buzzing - can either be software or hardware

rattling/vibrating - almost always the source is found in the earcups and is physical, like the fabric is out of shape or loose and only makes noise at those high bass outputs

static - I found that on my old laptop, whenever I was listening to music from the laptop and charging the portable AMP/DAC(FiiO E18 Kunlun) from a port on the laptop that it would produce a static noise in the background
