What's the difference between MSI's Line up?

Can somebody explain the difference between MSI's Gaming, Hawk and Lighting Edition cards?

Gaming- Oced

Go for the lightning I believe its Oced more out of the box But most non reference cards will run about the same so get the one you think looks best

I personally like the DCU2 but depends on what you think looks best

I think it goes:

1. Lightning
2. Gaming
3. Hawk

Where 1. lightning is the best.

 

The lightning usually has a custom board that allows it go go beyond a reference card.

The gaming just has a mild factory overclock; you're really paying for the decent cooler.

The hawk usually only is available for lower tier cards. It's basically like gaming, with slightly cheaper parts to save money for both MSI and you.

Lightning is for extreme oc and ln2 cooling, not for your average guy but for enthusiast rather

Hawk is a bit like Lightning but for lower end cards like the 760 for instance. You get the same color scheme as a lightning plus you get premium features like a backplate and a very high factory oc.

Gaming - just the TF cooler and a mild OC on the reference PCB

Lightning - custom PCB and VRM for extreme OC including LN2

Hawk - the same as Lightning, but for lower end cards
