different hdd sizes in NAS?

Go to solution Solved by Mayaa,

You could do that, you can just make a share for the raid array and another one for the single drive.

Hey guys, I am currently considering a NAS for doing backups and saving movies to be able to access them from everywhere in the house.

I don't need transcoding.

I've got a 3TB and 4TB drive at home and considering the QNAP TS-431P 4 Bay Desktop NAS.

Is it possible that I buy another 4TB drive and run both 4TB drives in RAID 1

and also use the 3TB drive as a single drive, for less important files.

Is that possible?

Thanks in advance,

Skull
