Hello,

I don't know if this is the best subforum to do it in but I thought it would fit best here.

I need led strips for my table, they will be used as background lighting.

Now thus far there is no problem but I am a bit of an idiot. What should I look out for? What is a good feature and whats garbage?

I would like them to be controlled from my phone and have more than just block colour, maybe even things like waves (like on an RGB keyboard)

Does a ready buy solution exist or would I have to make something myself?

Kind regards,

The Cliff

Whats your budget? You can get like 16ft of cheap RGB light strips on Amazon for $19. However, the sky is the limit when it comes to cost.

For controlling from your phone, there are a number of bluetooth controllable strips. If you already have some type of home automation setup, you could look at the Phillips Hue options, but its like $80 for 6 feet.

80 bucks is quite alot. I thought of a maximum of 50 bucks for what are about 8 feet.

I still may look into phillips hue. Thanks for the tip
