TRRS=balanced single 4 pole connector

TRS=standard single-ended connector

 

The balanced one is meant for a small handful of portable players with balanced outputs. There's a balanced to single ended adapter in the accessory pack for the balanced ones.

It probably won't sound significantly different from non-balanced. Amplifier topology overall is a much bigger deal than how the signal gets transmitted; unless you live in an area with an unhealthy amount of radiation, there isn't an appreciable amount of common mode noise in a 1m stretch of cable.
