Windows update but dont want it to install help

hello guys im currently on windows 10 build 1607 and windows has downloaded build 1709 but i do not want to install it how ever i dont want to hit shutdown and restart by an accident is there a way to get around this update by deleting something or anything the reason i dont want 1709 is because last time i had it other my other rig it slowed my pc right down and cba to roll back 

 

any help would be grateful thanks

No, there is no way with a non enterprise windows 10 to decline updates.

look at your settings... most windows 10 have a setting for "not in use times" where it does the reboot for you.
