What are the best 3D printer under $500??

I can vouch for the Wanhao Duplicator i3 Plus (or v2.1 if you don't need a touch interface). It is a great printer, due to it being a clone of the well regarded Prusa i3.

I've had the plus for about 9 months now and love it. It prints quite well straight out of the box, and there's a great community of owners on places like reddit and facebook to help with troubleshooting. There's also a multitude of mods of varying levels of difficulty which can make it an even better printer, if you want.

It's also been rebadged by a few sellers so the Monoprice Maker select V2, Cocoon create or Balco are the same printer.
