Hey,

Do you have the manual for the motherboard? there is a Q_Code table with all the specific codes explained.

However I did find the .pdf from their website (link below):

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1150/MAXIMUS-VI-FORMULA/E8336_Maximus_VI_Formula.pdf

The code you're referring to, I can't seem to find, but the closest I can find is 0x40 which means "System is waking up from S4 state".

Not sure if it's any help, but if all works fine. I don't think there is any reason to be worried  :D

Have you tried looking up in the manual what code 40 means? The manual has a table to lookup all the error codes your motherboard will give. Does your computer seem to be running abnormally? If it's running fine, then there shouldn't be much to worry about, but you should look it up in the manual anyways just in case it means a component is starting to go bad.

I don't see error code 40 in your manual, but for my RIVE, code "40" (not "0x40") is:

"System is waking up from the S4 sleep state"

If your system is working fine, I wouldn't worry about it.  If you're still worried, though, just open a ticket to ASUS customer support and I'm sure they'll clear it up.  It sounds like someone might have programmed that bios or transcribed the error code incorrectly so that the error codes don't match.

Isopropyl alcohol is all you need for cleaning CPU's and motherboard components.  No, you don't need [insert cleaning solution here].  -Source: PhD Student, Chemistry
