Is it going to be worth the $150 extra? If so whats the reasoning behind it?

If you have the money, then yes. There's a noticeable difference between 1440p and 1080p. I don't have the money nor the specs to handle it, but with yours it should run like butter?

Hello,

First time poster, long time lurker here.

I've recently upgrade my RIG and now I need to upgrade my monitors.

My PC currently nothing overclocked atm as I haven't needed too.

i7-7700k @ 4.20GHZ

Asus- GTX 1080 8 GB

16 GB G-skill @ 3000Hz

I am debating between 4k, 2k, 2k at 144 Hz (if best idea) and 1080p at 144 HZ:

4k - https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160278&cm_re=4k_display-_-24-160-278-_-Product

2k - https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160253&cm_re=2k_display-_-24-160-253-_-Product

2k @ 144Hz - https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824160315&ignorebbr=1

1080 @ 144hz - https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236722&cm_re=144_hz-_-24-236-722-_-Product

The games I primarily play currently are: ESO, and Destiny 2. I intend to play more shooting games but not really competitively.

I would you want 144 hz for shooting games. Which is why I put the 2k at 144 Hz in the list, the reason I'm not sold on that display is the fact that I'm cheap.

BUT if it is by far the best option to go with I'd rather spend the money and be happy than regret not spending it later down the road.

I know my 1080 would struggle with 4k, which I would almost be okay with 50 fps if the picture is going to be super crisp.

My 1080 would be able to handle all other displays without issue. However, I would be losing pixels but gaining FPS.

What is everyone's opinions?

Personally my choice would be with a 2k monitor at 60hz or a 1080p monitor at 144hz.

And honestly I would go for the 144hz 1080p monitor, but its just my opinion.

Is there any reasons as to why those are your opinions? I was leaning towards the 144hz, but wasn't sure bout 1080p or 1440p haha.
