I'm just starting on the pc the building thing I have priced up and sorted out my build and I have just started ordering the parts. I am just watching to know if there are going to be and any change to the ryzen 5 processors if there is going to be some kind of second generation coming for CES 2018 which is currently on going

Some new APU's have just been announced and new desktop CPUs are coming out in April, so if you can wait until then, it might be worthwhile. If you can't though, the new CPU's will run on any existing AM4 board, so you can always upgrade when they come out.

Your post was moved because in the other place it wouldn't get the right answer, as essentially it was under the wrong category. So WkdPaul was doing you a favour lol. As for not waiting, go for the best deal you can get at the moment then and build now is my advice, especially as GPU prices are going up again and RAM prices will continue to also go up until towards the end of next year. Any Ryzen 5 CPU that you buy now should give you great performance for at least the next two to three years and, at the end of that, you should still have an extensive choice of upgrades available at reasonable cost.

For one, we know there is a new Ryzen 5 APU that will be coming out mid Febuary (the 12th, if I remember correctly). Otherwise, the second gen should be starting to show up in March and April timeframe. If you can hold off on the motherboard(Unless there is one that you REALLY like) and CPU, then everything else shouldn't matter when it comes to compatibility. If you need the computer sooner then that, I typically recommend a R5 1600 as it's an outstanding price/performance that can do whatever.

that is the CPU that I have in my build i have just been doing a bit a bit of digging around and i have come across this article but tbh i think im going to stick with what i have planned for now and just see how i go. this whole process of building this pc is going to be expensive especially with the price hikes but to upgrade CPU alone, later on, will be much more reasonable providing my motherboard is up to it

btw this is the on i have picked out let me know what you think

Unfortunately, that's all we know about second gen Ryzen, and that AMD is aiming to surpass the typical 8% improvement from one generation to the next. There's nothing wrong with sticking to your guns. That's not a bad motherboard, though it may not overclock very well, which is something the newer motherboards should be able to do, though it may simply be cheaper to get a new motherboard. RAM, SSD, and graphics card prices are still kinda crazy, and there isn't exactly any end in sight to that unfortunately. CPU and Motherboard prices tend not to fluxuate unless there is a supply and demand issue.

thanks for the advice. from my understanding, AMD has always been a little slower at bringing stuff out. and i think for a first build I'm going to stick with it and see how i go, got to think about the long-term i think and its already looking like a £1000 pc
