I am not really familiar with overclocking but 72 celcius is really high. And around 80 the motherboard will shutdown your pc to prevent damage so i would try to lower the temps if possible. There are many good guides on overclocking etc. On google

I LIKE TURTLES

My CPU has TJ max at 72 degrees, so it is not recommended to run the cpu higher than that.

But if i let it run 80 C. more frequently, how much will it impact the lifespan?

I have x4 880k.

try running aida64 and stress test the cpu, then check for thermal throttling and temperatures.

I use Prime95 for stress testing and it clocks down at 83 degrees. However my pc never shuts down because of overheating.

It is quite hot for a cpu but it wont immediately start melting, if you can you should upgrade your cooler. If you cant afford a better cooler and want to keep using your pc with a high load you might need to concider undervolting it to prevent danage in the long term.

if you use it at that temp during long periods it'll start failing in like 6 months or maybe a year, to the point it'll just need more voltage to run at the same frequency, increasing the damage

you can check this link http://eesemi.com/emig.htm

you might need to underclock or get a better cooler

ASUS X470-PRO • R7 1700 4GHz • Corsair H110i GT P/P • 2x MSI RX 480 8G • Corsair DP 2x8 @3466 • EVGA 750 G2 • Corsair 730T • Crucial MX500 250GB • WD 4TB
