Mostly new build (1000 GBP budget) - Help wanted

AlTech

Hello,

As you may be able to tell, I'm building a mostly new rig.

There are a few things which I'm carrying over to the new build.

Peripherals and Monitors are remaining the same and so you don't need to include those.  PSU is the same (RM850i) and SSDs are the same.

I've thought about what kind of components would fit what i need and I've been thinking R5 1600, 16GB DDR4, B350 mobo and a GPU.

Beyond that I'm not exactly sure.

I'm all ears on suggestions.

Use Cases: Programming, Doing Homework, Office Stuff, Gaming, and other stuff. In order words it's meant to be my main machine.

I'm inclined to say no to an Nvidia GPU because of my bad experiences with them.

The GPU chosen needs to be better than a RX 560 at the minimum. And no a 1050Ti will not cut it either. I was thinking an RX 580 or Vega 56 but I am aware that Vega 56 is highly overpriced at the moment. And 580s as well.

The CPU needs to have more than 4 cores in order to be an upgrade cos I don't want a side grade.

I'd prefer not to have a huge case. I was thinking potentially a Mini ITX build if that would be possible and if it allows future expansion/upgrades down the road whilst offering good temps and performance.

So yeah. What parts do you think I should use in this upgrade? Budget for the whole new build is 1000 GBP. Oh and the cost of an OS doesn't count either since I have it activated as a Digital Entitlement.

Oh and a general theme of Black and White would be nice :P. Thanks.
