Wow shit itselft

Hello everybody, i have just formated my hdd and i installed a fresh copy of windows 8.1 Industry pro (uni privilege). Everything is great compared to the windows 10 i had before. But my big issue is that wow has so shitty fps its not even funny. I was able to play on the 6th preset with about 40-60 fps, expect some deeps here and there, now i barely have over 30.

CPU: AMD A10-5800K @4.1Ghz

RAM: 8GB DDR3 @1866MHZ

GPU: MSI Radeon R7 250 2GB @1130Mhz core and 980Mhz Memory

Also i had the latest drivers for the GPU when i was playing on Windows 10

WOW is on version 7.3.2.25549

8.1 is a resource hog compared to 10. Seems to stick in my head that memory was a key component of 8.1 running smoothly, especially with how big wow has gotten over the years.

If you had the fall update on 10, you may have had 'gamer mode' enabled too. It was more gimmick than feature but it would help a little with older hardware.

If/when you can, a 1050 ti can be had for cheap & will smoke most of WoW. Bought one for my nephew this last summer & he loves it. Went from an R9 270 to it & he now does raids & fairly competitive PvP, can all stutter free.

This may be true, but it will only be a marginal upgrade when you take into account his CPU; he's going to be heavily CPU-bottlenecked in WoW because it's a single-threaded nightmare.
