Heya everyone!

So, i've been thinking of upgrading my pc again and I was hoping to get some good upgrade feedback from you guys!

I'll be using this PC mostly for gaming and for watching movies etc. I don't go photoshop or video editing so hyperthreading is almost useless for me.

Atm i'm using the current build.

CPU = 2600k atm running at 4233Mhz

CPU cooling = Corsair H110i watercooling

Motherboard = MSI P67A-GD65

GPU = Gibabyte GTX 970 4GB (running almost stock)

RAM = 2X 8GB RAM DDR3 1866 Mhz

Storage = 1x Seagate Desktop HDD 2TB + 1 WD GREEN 2TB

Case = Phanteks Enthoo Pro

PS = Corsair RM650

Atm i've been thinking of using this

Since i'm going to be keeping the PS / case and GPU, i think 1000€ is somewhat of a good price?

What's your opinion?

Get the 8400, get a 500gb SSD instead of 1tb, get a 3TB HDD instead of 6TB, and you should have enough to upgrade your GPU to a 1070 too. GPU > CPU for gaming. If you aren't doing work station tasks I'm not sure how you could possibly use 7TB, you can easily make 1TB work.

@Sreno1,

Just wondering why you would go for the 8400?

I get the SSD, but would you go for the samsung or crucial?

The only reason i would want big storage is for my series / movies collection.

Upgrading the GPU, i thought it's okay for now?

8400 because it has the same number of cores but you will save around $200. Yes overclocking is nice, but its just not needed. The 970 is similar to the 1060 3GB. If you want a noticeably better gaming experience you need to get a better GPU (1070, 1070ti).

Thanks for the update.

Thanks for the update of the 8400, but would then a Ryzen be better?

i've noticed these days, my PC has gone slower, looking up stuff / starting games really hurts. (I'm thinking this is cause of my HDD)

Which SSD & GPU would you take?

Not really, the 8600k is just an unlocked version of the 8400. Unlocked meaning you can overclock it. So it depends on weather you want to overclock or not. If you don't get the 8400, you also don't need a cooler if you get the 8400 because it comes a good stock cooler.
