Hey guys I wanted to ask that would a core 2 duo e4500 do well with gtx 1050ti

The CPU would really struggle to keep the GPU busy unless you were asking the GPU to do 4K or something.

What you could do is, if you can spend a bit more money, change your CPU to Q6600 or other core 2 quad cpu. They go for about $20-30 and there are plenty of them around.

CPU: i7 3770K | MB: EVGA Z77 FTW | RAM: HyperX Savage 2400Mhz 16GB | GPU: R9 280X Toxic | Cooler: Scythe Fuma | PSU: CoolerMaster B600

SSD: Crucial MX300 525GB | HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB - Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB

i heard you need UEFI capable boards to run the 10xx series.

i have not tried to run my GTX 1050ti on anything older than a B75 board so i can't tell you if this is really true.

then again, i have a GT 1030 running on a Q57 mainboard - wich should not have UEFI either.

a 1030 would probably be a better match for your core 2 duo either way.

i have a GTX 750 ti paired with a slightly overclocked core 2 quad Q6600 and i think more than a 750 ti does not make sense here because:

the Q6600 really struggles in more demanding games ... and if you just want to play "some" games - i'd say buy a graphics card that is cheaper than the 1050ti and get a socket 775 quad core CPU with the money you saved or put that cash in a piggy bank and start saving up for a new computer
