Very basic general use rig...

I built a system for cheap because my Dad wanted one. The system is only for him to get online and downlaod stuff he does not play games and he is in no way a power user.

The specs of this computer are...

CPU: Intel Celeron G530 2.4Ghz Dual Core

MB: Asus P8Z77-M Pro

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB @ 1600Mhz CL9

GPU: Intel HD Graphics

PSU: Corsair RM 450

Case: Coolermaster N200

Storage: Intel 530 120GB SSD

Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 101i

Other: 1x LiteOn optical drive

I designed this system so if he wanted to put a core i5 and a graphics card in he could without needing a entire system upgrade. He does need a new CPU but its good enough for the basic things he does and I only used that CPU to flash the bios on a different motherboard. The build runs very fast when browsing the web and listening to music ( the kinds of things he does) but when it comes to gaming it just cant keep up. Because of the lack of a dedicated GPU the sstem is very slow at rendering 3D graphics even simple ones. The CPU is fast enough for some games (For example BF3 ran on that Celeron with my GTX 460 and I was able to keep a solid 60FPS at 1080P) but most games will leverage some extra CPU power. he does not game on computers instead he uses his PS3 for that so gaming wasn't something he was worried about.

Here are a few pictures of the build... (sorry I forgot to take more while I was building)

The SSD was moved from the bottom of the case to the top because the SATA power cable wasn't long enough. there is not 2 SSDs.

Nice spec. The CPU itself is not that bad, it will do anything short of multiplayer battlefield or overclock pretty well. One note from personal experience though. You did not need the cooler. You will see 0*C difference going from the intel cooler to a hyper 212 on the G530 at full load.

One thing I would do would be to fasten the SSD to the top of the optical drive (use tape or gluedots) to make the cable runs a little cleaner. But if you neven intend to look inside it will work the way you have it.

Why did you go with a Z77 motherboard for a basic general use build? Unless you already had the motherboard of course.

There is no way that's a hyper 212. It's way smaller.

He does not have a 212. What I was reffering to is my personal experience of aftermarket cooling with that CPU.  If he has the Intel cooler, he should use that instead, as it is generally quieter and will have 0* change at full load on the CPU he used. (as said this is not his situation, this is my experience.)
