Hello,

so I'm a streamer and i use an Elgato capture card to offload the work burden to another PC, and i currently have 2 monitors running off my main GPU (RX 470). One of my monitors is a 144hz monitor using a DP connection and the other is a standard 60hz running off a HDMI. i was plugging everything up only to realize i couldn't capture what was on my monitor because the elgato only had a HDMI input and the monitor i wish to capture uses a DP.Sadly, my RX470 only has one HDMI output (The rest being DP and DVI) and since i wanted to keep the usability of having 2 monitors i decided to grab my other GPU (GTX 660) and use the HDMI port on that to output to the capture card and just duplicate my 1st display. My question is will the game im running on my main monitor be rendered twice by both GPUs or just by my main RX 470 and sent out by the 660?

Not too sure. However you can get dvi too HDMI cables, they just won't work with HDCP DRM.

Yeah i know but im not a big fan of using adapter because they can be finicky and i had this gpu just laying around anyways

Not gonna happen. Why not just have the main gpu display it twice. Still only being rendered once as opposed to twice  if the whole 2 card thing would work. Which would be worse.

Perhaps running two connections to the same monitor and choose duplicate. Then use one of the connections to capture and still have the other monitor on another connection on the card or on another card.

Thats basically what im doing just using 2 GPUs. my main car only has one HDMI and my second monitor is running off that one. so there would be no other HDMI to run the cap card off of.

Then you need better cards or a better monitor. Should be using dvi or dp anyway.

i have a rx470 (which is pretty decent) and im using display port on my 144hz monitor

because im already running 2 monitors. one using hdmi the other using display port. im trying to capture the display that is using the display port cable, but the capture card only has a HDMI input. so i need a HDMI output so i could run something to the capture card

I just said all this. Connect the card to the monitor twice. If it sees it correctly, duplicate the output. Use capture card on hdmi, use second card on second monitor.
