Decent $50 router

SupremeChunk
Go to solution Solved by Oshino Shinobu,

TP-Link AC1200 would be my suggestion.

If you can push past $50 a bit, then the ASUS RT-ACRH13

Hello.

This is my current router: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Router-External-Antennas-WNR2020v2/dp/B00MRVJYEI/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1514452918&sr=8-16&keywords=netgear+router

Meh.

I'd like to upgrade, but my needs are modest, as is my budget, so ideally I'd like to spend $50 or so

The only criteria I can think if is Gigabit ports. VPN support would be really nice but I realize it's unlikely at that price.

Can anyone recommend something that doesn't suck?

Thanks.

Let me eleborate on my comment.
There are many different points of consideration when looking into which router you want.
Things like the features you want and what kind of connection it needs to support. Also should it have a build in modem or not etc.
Also it will depend on what kind of devices are connected to it (2.4GHz vs 5GHz) etc.
And there are more points to consider. That's why I suggested searching the forums, because these discussions have been held a lot already and by reading some of those topics you can see what options are out there and determine what you need more specificly.

Edit: I now read my post again and It might have a little hostile tone, I had a rough morning at work so maybe I let of some steam in this post too ... sorry about that ;).
