The cable for my keyboard is completely modular, however, I am looking to get one that can be purchased at custom (or different) lengths, and preferably has nice sleeving. I checked CableMod, but I didn't see anything on there that i wanted. It's possible that I just missed what I was looking for. Where would you look to purchase such an item?

Oh wait... I found a picture of it online here https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4RE6416239&cm_re=corsair_k65_cherry_mx_red-_-23-816-037-_-Product.

It isn't the same on both ends, the one is smaller, and I am unable to find the exact name of the port

Looks like mini b to me, although send a close up picture so I can be sure. You could sleeve your own cable. IE buy a cheap cable and some sleeving from somewhere (not paracord as its wont fit over the connector) and stretch it over, then heatshrink. Or you could build your own cable from scratch if thats your bag.

My girlfriend's son is currently using my phone, but if I remember I will send one tomorrow, and I've never made a custom cable before. Although it is something I would like to learn how to do in the future, for right now, I think I would rather just purchase one.

Making a custom cable from scratch is probably not the best option here. Usb stuff can be a pain to work with due to the shielding. Although if you don't like other options, sleeving an existing cable with MDPC-X or telios sleeving will be a piece of cake. Look for a video by lutro0 on yt about sleeving sata cables. The cable is different, but it's the same basic method.

Thanks much! I thought "mini-usb" was the same as a standard charger? I assume there an actual semantic difference between "mini" and "micro" in this case?

Yes.  Mini B and Micro B are different.

That is quite the useful image, I just went ahead and saved it. And just to be clear, USB-A is the typical one yes? It looks like it, but I just want to make sure, before I pass this information to someone else.

Yes.  USB A is the standard USB Male computer-end plug that's been used since 1995.

Thanks, I'm actually going to check that one out now before sleep :D

Just make sure the sleeving you pick can fit over the connector. You may well need the larger 'sata' style sleeving, as the more common size for sleeving PSU cables may not be big enough.

Worst case scenario you could always buy the Flex Sleeving that has a massive expand ability. They can fit over USB 3.0 headers at the larger sizes they sell.

Gaming Rig Build: Project Ice Dragon

Although what diameter can it stretch down to? As I have some 24 pin ATX sleeving that only gets down to 10-15mm.

It's massive(Just depends on the size you pick, since it comes in dozen different sizes). It only sleeving I've seen that can expand that large.
