so i just had my first experience with emptying my water loop without having a designtaed drain port and holy... it was exhausting. so now im thinking about adding a drain port to make my life a whole lot easier. what do i need for a drain port? just this https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-af-ball-valve-10mm-g1-4-nickel or do i need more stuff?

It depends on how you have your loop setup but as mentioned you'll need male to male fittings and T valve potentially depending on how it integrate into your loop.

Male to male fitting, another fitting to angle it depending on where you put it. And a cap for the fitting.

If you have an extra port then yes but the pump/res units from EK only have one output the other is an input unless your having the fluid return through the top.

Yep that will do, looking at the XSPC res unit make sure you have enough clearance for the ball valve and other fitings around it as it is slightly bulky, if you need you can always get an angled rotary fitting to move it out of the way.

yeah the clearance is no problem, i have plenty of space in my case. so this would be all then?c2f7a4e9464cdb3786d26044ec81f403.png

Yep that would be it, I would suggest to get an extra compression or barb fitting and short length of tubing if you don't have some already for draining the fluid from the valve far outside the case.

Yep just make sure that's the same ID as the tubing you have on hand and your good to go.
