Video card recommendations?

Go to solution Solved by ItsBlck,

Yeah, all three are great cards, really future proofing there! They should be great enough at 1080p?  until roughly 2040 sooo, yeah great choice. But in all seriousness, If you do get them totally plan to get a 4k monitor or at least 1440p one to see them beautiful pixels!

So I saved some money and got some for Christmas. I plan on getting a new Video Card since I just upgraded everything else recently.

I currently have a Radeon R9 290, and my CPU is a Ryzen 1700x that I have overclocked to 3.8ghz.

I have an ultrawide, 2560x1080, 75hz freesync monitor.

I know it would be really overkill for a 1080p monitor but I had planned on buying a 1080ti if I had enough; which I currently don't but I will once I get my next paycheck.

I currently have enough to buy just about anything else, a 1080, 1070ti.

I wanted to know what you guys would recommend. I just would like to be able to run everything on ultra at nice and high FPS, and would like it to be somewhat future proof.

I was also thinking that sometime in the near future I would save up for a VR headset, so I would like to be ready for that as well.

Thank you guys and Merry Christmas!

all three of them would be solid options, i think. but keep in mind that you can't use freesync if you buy a nvidia card.

True. I figured better to go for a better card rather than one with freesync.
