Help With my GPU

Hello so i installed a new gpu into my system but i didn't connect my 6-pin power connector so if i just leave the gpu in there with my pc turned on will it damage the gpu in my pcie x16 slot or no?

 

and another question, do i HAVE to connect my monitor to the gpu in order to use it?

 

The GPU is the EVGA geforce 450 GTS in case any of you were wondering it

yes your monitor has to be connected to your gpu to use it also you are going to need that 6 pin connector

2. No, if you have another GPU you can still use it for computing but not gaming.

I don't think you could wreck sit but I would recommend against it as the pc won't run and probably just turn on and off continuously. And in order to use the gpu a cable has to be connected to it.

Actually my pc has been running very fine no random restarts at all and since my power supply does not have a 6 pin connector i will be buying an adaptor from the local store soon so my pc will not damage  the card if it just sits there?
