Hi all,

So my friend is getting a new PC and he has everything sorted apart from the OS. However, I happen to have a copy of Windows 7 which I was going to give him, but there is a problem, the version is from April 2011 or 2012 (I'm not sure which one) and he has an extremely weak and slow internet connection due to where he lives so downloading all the updates (including SP1 which is huge) would take days, so I was wondering if there would be any way to take the Windows 7 updates from my PC (which are the latest) and put them on an external drive and install them on his PC somehow so he doesn't have to download them. If I can't take them from my PC does anyone know of a website where I could download them all in one big bundle or something and put them on the external drive? Any insight on this would be greatly obliged as it would be a real inconvenience to have to download GB's worth of updates on an extremely slow connection (I think it is 2Mb/s or something like that).

Thanks in Advance,

Paul.

You could try using a free-ware program called WSUS Offline Updater. Essentially download the chosen OS updates to your computer as an executable/ISO file which you can install locally to the destination computer.

You could give that a go. Here is the link to the official webpage:

probably yes............not a 100% sure though.

SP1 update is the major chunck others are smaller and more fragmented and can be downloaded overtime so ......

It would be nice to get the SP out the way then I guess the rest are usually only a couple of MB's so that's not so bad, thanks again!
