resolution isn't the same

I recently hooked up a TV to my computer but when i did my right monitors resolution only goes to 1024x768 when it was 1080p. I dont have any more option in nvidia control panel and windows display panel. Not sure what the problem is. HELP!

system spec:

CPU: Intel - Core i7-7700K
Motherboard: MSI - Z270 KRAIT GAMING 
Storage: Samsung - 960 Pro 1TB
Video Card: MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB

You are most likely being limited by the analog signal that vga can deliver. That's the only thing I can think of. Try reducing refresh rate and see if you get extra options.
