BT to USB

player4

Hi guys,

So i was wondering if there was a way to force certain bluetooth-connected devices to be recognized as usb-connected?

The idea is that, for example, PS4 remote play program only recognizes joystick when it's connected either via usb, or wirth their costly bt dongle which doesnt have much use outside of it.

Googling gave nothing and i'm a noob when it comes to programming. I guess there might be a way to substitute some files to recognize all the non-pci devices as bt, but that would take some serious os interference, so, you know, ask a friend first.

Might be a stupid question, but am serious.

Why do people want to control a PS4 from their PC? Is it in a difficult area to access to just unplug it and take it somewhere else? or something else that I am not seeing a use for?

@paddy-stone, the answer is simpler than it may seem.

Atm, i don't have a tv due to different reasons, but what i do have are multiple computers in different rooms, most of which are a good spot to play, so i found it easy to just plug ps4 into router lan and just use the remoteplay thing, since the speed is sufficient to lose almost no quality and it works in local network even without wan connection. Other than that, this is the only way to use it in other places without taking it, since it allows to use it over internet once configured.

The problem is that the remoteplay doesn't start the connection unless a joystick is present either via usb, or via their ~70 pound useless-for-other-things dongle, so there are 2 obvious solutions - either mess with the program itself, which is messy every time it updates, or do what i asked previously. Alas, i have no idea how to do said thing, therefore asking for help here.

Hope that answers your question.

Yeas, thank you... that makes sense, hope I didn't sound rude or anything? I genuinely had no idea why they would be useful, didn't occur to me that someone would have a computer in their room but no TV, us old folks huh!? :D

Anyway, sorry I don't have anything useful to say... hope you find an answer to your problem, and have a merry xmas.
